Why I'm a Photographer
Why am I a photographer? Boy is that a fully loaded question. There are many reasons I am a photographer, but I’ll narrow it down to a few for you.
I LOVE photography. I’ve always had an artistic side to me. I knew that growing up. I experimented in all kinds of arts to see what I was best at. I did drawing, painting, charcoal, piano, singing, etc. Many of those I truly enjoyed, but it didn’t quite fit me. So I picked up a camera and the passion flew from there. I’d never felt so free! I finally found a way to express my artistic side, and it greatly satisfied me.
I wanted a job that allowed me to be a stay at home mom. I hated the idea of not being home with my future kids and missing out on their “first experiences”. I wanted them to have memories with me at home with them. As a photographer, I can control and chose my schedule as I please. I’m not stuck at a desk from 8-5. I can be editing at home and watching my child’s first moments.
I enjoy capturing moments that my clients can keep forever. Growing up, I thought it was fascinating that you could capture an emotion in a single picture. And that the picture could literally last forever. There’s a beauty to capturing emotions and moments and keeping them to remember at a later date. I wanted to be the person creating and giving that gift to someone else.
